Tenold Transportation has been operating since 1968. At that time, Gar Campbell operated with one truck under the name of A&W Trucking Ltd (A&W)
hauling cable for a number of customers. Several of those original customers represent Tenolds largest customers today.
In the 1970s, A&W expanded its fleet of trucks and drivers becoming a regional carrier in British Columbia and Alberta. As the transportation
industry in Canada and the US became deregulated, Tenold has experienced a number of milestones in its history:
- 1983 Acquisition of Tenold Transport of Weyburn SK, which had operations throughout the Prairies
- 1984 Head office established at current location in Surrey BC
- 1991 Expansion of operations into Ontario and establishing of terminal in Brampton ON
- 1993 Established terminal in Edmonton AB to better service customers in Alberta
- 1994 Acquired terminal in Winnipeg MB to better service customers in Manitoba
- 1996 Commencement of logistics business from the Surrey BC terminal, which has since expanded throughout Tenolds other terminals
- 2000 Acquired terminal in Weyburn SK to better service customers in Saskatchewan
- 2002 Commencement of bulkhaul business from the Surrey BC terminal, which has since expanded throughout British Columbia and into Alberta
- 2003 Commencement of reel assembly functions in Weyburn SK terminal and cable cutting functions in Surrey BC terminal
- 2004 Commencement of reel assembly functions in Surrey BC terminal
- 2004 Established terminals in Brampton ON and St Jean Sur Richelieu QC to better service customers in Ontario and Quebec
- 2005 - Commencement of intermodal business
- 2005 Sale of Tenold to Mullen Group
- 2006 - Relocation of terminals in Edmonton AB, Winnipeg MB, and Brampton ON to larger facilities to better meet customer needs
- 2007 First overseas shipment
- 2008 Commencement of cable cutting functions in Edmonton AB terminal
